Frequently Asked Questions
What awards or medals will you have?
Every finisher of the 5K will receive a medal at the finish line, a new feature for 2024. You must complete the race to receive a medal. We will not ship medals.
In addition, we will have an awards ceremony at 9:15 AM for the overall and costume contest winners. These will have prizes like gift certificates, prize packages, or prize money.
Results are posted live, so you can find out where you finished. If you need to leave early, we can give you your medal based on live results at 9 AM. Finish place is based on NET TIME (when you cross the start and finish), not necessarily the order of finish. We will start the races in waves, so runners in other waves may beat your time.
The Kid's Dash is a non-timed, free event. At the finish line, every child will receive a "Fun Run" ribbon and some candy.
What group do I start with?
We start in three waves. We will announce runners to move to the starting line, followed by joggers, and then walkers. Your time in the results starts when you individually cross the start line. So don't worry about it impacting your time!
8:00 - Wave A - Sub 30 Minute (runners)
8:01 - Wave B - 30:00 to 45:00 (joggers)
8:02 - Wave C - 45:00 and over (walkers)
What is the Kid's Dash?
The little ones (12 & under) can participate in the free kid's dash. It will start 15 minutes before the 5K. The run is a simple out-and-back, going out one block, then turning around and returning. It is a little over a tenth of a mile. Even the smallest can do it!
The kids will get a "Fun Run" ribbon, candy, and other goodies. They will be awarded as the kids cross the finish line.
Will participants get shirts?
Yes. Every registered 5K participant will get a dry-fit shirt.
Will there be a photographer?
We will have a race photographer there taking start and finish photos, awards photos, and other candids. These will be posted on this site under the Photos link within 24-48 hours after the race's conclusion.
Where will I find race results?
Results will be posted live on this site under the Results link.
Can I bring my pet?
Feel free to bring your friendly furry ones along on a leash. Bonus points if they have a costume that is themed to match yours. We'll give out awards for the best pets in costume. You must pick up after any mess, or you'll be asked to leave.
Can I push my kid in a stroller?
Of course! We love seeing families with little ones. Just don't run over anybody, okay? :-)
I have a disability and use a wheeled device... can I participate?
Yes, we would love to have you. Upon completion, you will receive a finisher medal. Wheeled participants, however, will not be eligible for overall awards.
What are the costume contest categories?
We will award prizes for top costumes in the following categories:
- Best Group Theme (3+)
- Best Couple Theme (2)
- Best Overall Individual
- Best Kid's Costume
- Best Pet Costume
- Funniest
- Best Hero or Villain
- Most Likely to Go Viral
